For this evening’s concert we present Credo by Kjartan Sveinsson, keyboardist of the Icelandic band Sigur Rós. Latin for “I Believe”, the piece is an exquisite work that conjures luminous intensity within a contemplative bliss that verges on the mystical. Also featured is fellow Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson with a newly commissioned work. With his lushly sophisticated and hauntingly melodic music that has been bewitching listeners for some time, we are proud to introduce his music to Winnipeg with this major world premiere.
